Study on Prediction Method for Compression Scour Depth of River-Crossing Bridge

Abstract Riverbed deformation caused by river-crossing bridge construction can be divided into compression scour and local scour. Compared with scour, fewer studies have been made on the piers. It is noteworthy that, lead to riverbed of whole cross section along a site, which obviously detrimental foundation safety. Based summary existing research findings, prediction model for piers constructed, applied in predicting depth Shiyezhou River Bridge lower reaches Yangtze River. Firstly, pier boundary treatment methods at different spatial scales are discussed. Subsequently, selection method flow sediment processes proposed from engineering safety point view, according characteristics Finally, around upstream downstream predicted, comparisons were between other bridges Comparisons show that was basically equivalent The results indicate reasonable feasible, provide technical basis determining embedment foundation.
